Unisoir

The UniSoir banner was launched by Lévis’ wholesaler J.B. Cadrin before its merger with Montreal’s Jean-Paul Beaudry Ltd. to form Beaudry & Cadrin in 2013.

The banner was created to grow Cadrin’s volume by securing and retaining long-term agreements with independent owners of convenience stores. Now that the merger has taken place, the Beaudry & Cadrin group inherits a large portfolio of 7 banners, many of which are similar or aim at similar prospects. It is not clear at this stage what will happen to these different banners but it would not be surprising that their numbers decrease for reasons of coherence and cost efficiency.

Type of Franchise

To display the UniSoir banner, the franchisee signs an “exclusive affiliation and supply agreement” of variable duration but generally established around 5 years. The franchisee is thus affiliated to the banner of which Beaudry & Cadrin holds the intellectual property rights. It agrees to purchase exclusively from the latter the goods and merchandise for the operation of its convenience store business. In return, it benefits from discounts and discounts from the suppliers of Beaudry & Cadrin.
