Highlights:
- From May 1, 2010 to May 1, 2024, the all-inclusive hourly minimum wage went from $11.02 to $18.24, an increase of 66%;
- Benefits payable by c-store employers add 15.81% to their salary, while the average in Quebec is 16.58%. This is so because most c-store payroll is less than a million dollars per year.
Among the payroll taxes that increased the most are:
- the Employment Insurance contribution increased by 91%;
- the contribution rate to the Québec Pension Plan increased by 114%;
- the minimum wage increased by 66%.
