These benefits apply to a convenience store employee with less than 3 years of working experience in the store and to an employer with an overall store payroll of less than $1 million.
Highlights:
- From May 1, 2010 to May 1, 2025, the all-inclusive hourly minimum wage went from $11.02 to $18.70, an increase of 70%;
- Benefits payable by c-store employers add 16.15% to their salary.
Among the payroll taxes that changed the most in 2025 are:
- the Healthcare contribution increased from 1.85% to 2.50%;
- the Employment Insurance contribution decreased from 1.65% to 1.31%;
- the minimum wage increased modestly from $15.75 to $16.10.
