Sonic

The Sonic brand of gasoline originated from Sonic, a division of La Coop Fédérée. Founded in 1958, it distributes over 900 million liters of energy products annually (gasoline, propane, diesel, heating oil, lubricants, DEF and forest biomass) and supplies 152 gas stations in Quebec.

It also operates 21 self-service depots and sites for trucks. It also provides sales, installation and maintenance services of heating and storage equipment.

According to the company, Sonic‘s gasoline meets the rigors of the seasons and all government standards in force. Regular gasoline can contain up to 10% ethanol, thus meeting the criteria of major automotive manufacturers and ensuring superior cleaning of injectors and allowing improved performance. Super gasoline does not contain ethanol but has an octane rating of 91 which is ideal for sports cars, luxury cars and small engines such as saws, mowers and 2-stroke engines.

Sonic service stations offer four types of unleaded gasoline:

  • Regular, having a minimum octane rating of 87;
  • Lead-free plus, with an octane rating of 89;
  • super, with an octane rating of 91;
  • Ethanol, with an octane rating ranging between 88 and 89.

Type of Franchising

Sonic gasoline is available in an affiliated mode based on a supply agreement or a franchise coming with a whole range of marketing, administrative and other tools and support programs.
