The Costco gas brand is sold in about half of the Costco warehouses at a price generally lower than the competition, to the point where their presence usually contributes to lower prices in the locality.
Costco‘s aggressive pricing policy goes so far as to challenge the Régie de l’énergie du Québec to reduce the established minimum cost of operating a gas station in Quebec from 3.5 to 2 cents per liter (source: TVA) so that it can sell its fuel cheaper.
On its website, Costco claims it offers great value on high-quality fuel. Its gas stations, equipped with long hoses to fill one side or the other of the vehicle, are designed for quick refueling. The Kirkland signature gasoline exceeds five times the CGSB standard in deposit reduction additive (source: Costco).
