{"id":58138,"date":"2017-03-09T11:56:50","date_gmt":"2017-03-09T16:56:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depquebec.com\/?p=58138"},"modified":"2017-05-12T08:31:06","modified_gmt":"2017-05-12T13:31:06","slug":"natrel-is-no-longer-taking-unsold-milk-following-the-loss-of-an-important-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depquebec.com\/en\/natrel-is-no-longer-taking-unsold-milk-following-the-loss-of-an-important-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"Natrel Is No Longer Taking Unsold Milk Following The Loss Of An Important Client"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several articles and features in the media have recently reported that following the refusal of large dairy companies to take back the unsold milk in effect since last spring, the<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lechinois.ca\/xiehui\/association_chinois_quebec.htm\">Quebec Chinese Convenience Stores Association<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>QCCSA<\/strong>) has threatened to encourage its members to stop selling milk.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.journaldemontreal.com\/2017\/01\/19\/les-depanneurs-chinois-menacent-de-cesser-de-vendre-du-lait\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Journal de Montr\u00e9al<\/strong><\/a>, the thousand members of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lechinois.ca\/xiehui\/association_chinois_quebec.htm\"><strong>QCCSA<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are getting highly frustrated by the very low profit margins on these products.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Managing milk stocks is getting more and more difficult, says Yaping Xing, manager of the convenience store <strong>Le Polyvalent<\/strong> in Charlesbourg. In the Capitale-Nationale region, asian store owners are now operating almost half of all depanneurs. &#8220;It&#8217;s become too complicated. I have to prepare the orders for the next week before I know how much I sold. &#8221; She says milk is a highly unpredictable product. &#8211; <strong>Journal of Montreal<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As a result of this article, several reports (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvanouvelles.ca\/2017\/01\/19\/vers-la-fin-du-lait-au-depanneur\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tvanouvelles.ca\/2017\/01\/20\/la-vente-de-lait-fait-partie-de-la-mission-des-depanneurs\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.laterre.ca\/actualites\/alimentation\/depanneurs-chinois-menacent-de-ne-plus-vendre-de-lait.php\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) echoed reactions from convenience store owners, most feeling that it is simply not realistic for a convenience store to stop selling milk.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Since last May, the large dairy companies stopped taking back the unsold milk. <strong>Agropur\u00a0(Natrel) <\/strong>refuses to comment publicly on this practice.
