{"id":113962,"date":"2018-06-21T08:47:58","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T12:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depquebec.com\/loi-170-alcool-dates-dentree-en-vigueur\/"},"modified":"2018-06-21T09:07:52","modified_gmt":"2018-06-21T13:07:52","slug":"loi-170-alcool-dates-dentree-en-vigueur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depquebec.com\/en\/loi-170-alcool-dates-dentree-en-vigueur\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill 170 (alcohol): Dates You Should Know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bill 170 on the sale of alcohol in Quebec was adopted on June 12th.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the new measures affect the sale of alcohol in restaurants, but some concern depanneurs and have different dates of application.<\/p>\n<p>Here they are :<\/p>\n<p><strong>1) Hours allowed for the sale of alcohol<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Retailers earned an hour more during the day to sell alcohol, from 7 am instead of 8 am;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>This measure is<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>\u00a0effective from July 1, 2018;<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Locking refrigerators<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Although no one was doing this anymore, the old regulation required retailers to lock their beer &#8220;fridges&#8221; and put a chain and padlock cloth on their beer stands on the floor;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>This provision has been abolished. However, this measure officially <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>comes into effect from 1 July 2018<\/strong><\/span>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3) In-store tasting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It used to be prohibited to offer in-store alcohol tastings unless through the manufacturer&#8217;s personnel;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>From now on, alcohol tastings will be allowed if they are conducted by your own staff;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>This measure, however, depends on the adoption of a government decree before being in force;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>It is not yet known when this decree will be adopted, so the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>date of entry into force is not yet confirmed<\/strong><\/span>.
