Seen at Le Magasin \/ Esso<\/strong><\/a> from the Harnois<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>retail chain in Sainte-Ad\u00e8le: a windshield washer fluid filling station!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rather than purchasing a 4L plastic bottle, the motorist can fill its tank directly from a pump spout as it would for gasoline.<\/p>\n

A quantity of 4 L costs\u00a0around $4.25 CDN, more affordable than buying a plastic can (app. $ 5.99 per unit) but more expensive than those bought at large surface stores (sold about $2.50 per unit).<\/p>\n

This innovation is the work of entrepreneur Pierre N\u00e9ron and his firm Cristal Innovation<\/a>. Mr. N\u00e9ron\u00a0highlights\u00a0in his sales pitch the environmental benefits of his\u00a0approach.<\/p>\n

It is after seeing a similar application in Europe that he decided to launch the concept here in 2013.<\/p>\n

According to the store locator map<\/a> on the company’s website, several chains are currently testing his device\u00a0such as Harnois<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>but also Couche-Tard<\/strong><\/a> and Caliprix<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen whether this seemingly very good idea is going to become popular and spread throughout Quebec and elsewhere in North America.<\/p>\n
