Created in 1984, Maxi<\/b><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0was sold 15 years later to Loblaw<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>by Provigo<\/strong><\/a>, which held the banner.<\/p>\n

In Qu\u00e9bec, there are currently 89 Maxi<\/b><\/a>\u00a0supermarkets and 16 Maxi & Cie<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0hypermarkets according to our estimates. Launched in 1996, Maxi & Cie<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>are larger stores that offer expanded products and services.<\/p>\n

Like any genuine discount supermarket, Maxi<\/b><\/a>\u00a0stores won’t feature sophisticated d\u00e9cors, settings or contests.
