Boni-Soir and Voisin are the two flagship c-store banners managed by Sobeys Québec for independent retailers. The franchisees gain access to the purchasing power of giant Sobeys plus they get a range of complementary services that include a dynamic marketing program as well as exclusive and distinctive products such as Xtraslush, Brûlerie Mont-Royal coffee or the My Candy Zone concept.
Type of Franchise
Sobeys offers an “affilliation agreement” with independent owners for the operation of a convenience store under the Boni-Soir banner of a usual five-year term, possibly with the right to extend the term for a period of five years and also, a right of first refusal during the term of the lease if the lessor receives an offer to purchase concerning the rented premises. The agreement allows retailers access to wholesale prices and support in terms of advertising.
“Even though I am a Boni-Soir franchisee, I am my own boss. Boni-Soir simply gives me a hand by negotiating agreements and doing advertising. To me, being part of a well-known banner is a must. ” – Serge Bernier, Boni-Soir retailer located on Denison Street, Granby.
